INOICHI Inc. is a full-service construction company specializing in design-build. We launched in New York in 2026, bringing professional expertise in Japanese architecture, particularly Sukiya-style design.

In Japan, structural timbers are marked with a traditional indexing system combining the “Iroha” phonetic syllabary and traditional numerals of Chinese origin. The very first mark in this system is “I-no-ichi.” We named our company after this term to represent our focus on the foundation and the paramount importance of the first step in any creation.
INOICHIは、設計施工一貫の工務店です。日本建築、特に数寄屋造りにおけるプロフェッショナルな技術を携えて、2026年よりニューヨークで始動しました。
私たちはクライアント様のイメージの一歩先、二歩先を具現化し、提案し、より良きものをともにつくりあげる、エキスパートです。
日本では建築物を建てる際、柱や梁、桁として使われる木材の一本一本に「番付」がつけられます。番付は、いろは歌の「いろはにほへと」と、漢数字の一、二、三からなっており、その最初が『いノ一』です。「一番初め」を表す大切な言葉から文字をいただき、INOICHIという社名にしました。
I began my carpentry apprenticeship at twenty to learn the nature of wood and the mastery of tools along with the history, beauty, and philosophy of Japanese architecture. The delicacy of Sukiya architecture rooted in the tea ceremony, the essence of Wabi-sabi, and the spirit of hospitality became my core.
Increasing overseas assignments midway through my career revealed a profound global desire for authentic Japanese architecture.
What could I do? My mission is to use my accumulated experience to share the craftsmanship and beauty of Japanese tradition with the world. Driven by this vision, I chose New York—the crossroads of the world—as the home to establish INOICHI.
私は、二十歳で大工の修業に入り、木材の特徴、道具の使い方、日本建築の歴史や美と哲学を学びました。中でも茶道に代表される数寄屋建築の繊細さ、侘び寂び、人をもてなす精神は、自分の核となりました。
また、キャリアの中盤から海外での仕事が増え、日本の文化を好み、本物の日本建築を求めている方が大勢いることにも気づかされました。
私にできることは何か？──そこはこれまで培った経験をもとに、日本の伝統文化から生み出される技と美しさを世界に発信し、広めていくこと。そのため、世界の中心を担うニューヨークを拠点とし、創業しました。
Born in Yamagata in 1980, Hiroaki Ito began his journey in architecture at Yamagata College of Industry and Technology. After a five-year foundational apprenticeship with a local builder, he joined the prestigious Kyoto-based firm Sankakuya in 2006. Over nearly two decades, he honed his expertise in Sukiya-style architecture through numerous high-profile projects worldwide. In 2025, he co-founded Inoichi Inc. to bring this authentic mastery to the global stage.
1980年、山形県生まれ。山形工科短期大学卒業後、地元の工務店にて5年間修業。2006年、株式会社三角屋（京都）の一員として、国内外の数寄屋建築に携わる。2025年、仲間とともに株式会社Inoichiを創業。
